Since its establishment, the school has taken international development and international education as an important school-running feature. The school is one of the first primary and secondary schools in our province to carry out international exchanges and cooperation, and is one of the first primary and secondary schools that can enroll international students from Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and the promotion base of Chinese as a foreign language granted by Hanban. In 2009, the senior high School International Class was approved by the provincial Department of Education and registered by the Ministry of Education, becoming one of the five senior high school international classes in the province that obtained official qualifications.
In August 1994, more than 300 teachers and students from Daiwa Gakuen, Nara, Japan, visited the school, marking the beginning of a 30-year history of teacher-student exchanges between the two schools.
In July 1995, 72 teachers and students went to the United States for exchange. Many mainstream media such as the American "Overseas Chinese Newspaper" and "World Daily" reported that Shaanxi Provincial TV station followed up the whole process, which caused a stir at home and abroad and opened a new chapter in international exchange of our school.
In 2004, the school held the first opening ceremony for Korean students, and welcomed 48 Korean students to study in our school, becoming the first batch of provincial secondary schools to accept foreign students.
In June 2007, the school was approved by the State Hanban and Shaanxi Provincial Education Department as the "Primary and Secondary School Base for the International Promotion of Chinese".
In August 2007, the school hosted the Hanban "Chinese Bridge" International Summer Camp, and 40 teachers and students from South Korea came to the school to learn Chinese.
In July 2008, the school hosted the Hanban "Chinese Bridge" International Summer Camp, and 37 teachers and students from the United States came to the school to learn Chinese.
In October 2008, the school hosted the Hanban "Chinese Bridge" International Summer Camp, and 59 teachers and students from the UK came to the school to learn Chinese.
In 2009, the International Department was established, and established inter-school trains with institutions in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea and other countries, collecting many world-class education resources.
In April 2013, a group of 80 teachers and students from Sydney New Town Art High School came to our school for art exchange. This activity was the first time for Australia New Town Art High School to conduct art exchange activities in Shaanxi Province.
In October 2016, the 2016 Chinese and Korean middle School Students' Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition jointly organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and the South Korean Gangwon Provincial Department of Education was successfully held in our school.
At present, Bodi overseas students have reached more than 700, covering more than a dozen countries such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea. As a window school for foreign exchanges, Bodi has received nearly 1,000 foreign students, received nearly 10,000 visits from educational groups from all over the world, spread Chinese culture and language, and built a bridge of friendship between China and other countries.
